Foundation Studies (Engineering and Science)

The course prepares students for undergraduate study in Engineering, Science and Computing.
Streams There are three streams offered in the Foundation Engineering & Science course. As well as several units that are common to all foundation courses, students will study units relevant to their chosen stream.
Engineering: Engineering students will study units in engineering mathematics, physics and chemistry.
The Private Higher Educational Act 1996 (Act 555) provides that every PHEI shall teach the following compulsory subjects: Islamic Studies for students professing the Islamic religion, Moral Studies for non-Muslim students and Malaysian Studies.
All Malaysian students are required to attend classes and pass these compulsory subjects as a prerequisite to the award of a certificate, diploma or degree. The classes are optional for non-Malaysian students.
Students who obtain satisfactory results in the Foundation Engineering and Science program are eligible for entry into the following courses offered at the Curtin Sarawak Campus: -
- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical, Civil and Construction, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Systems, Electrical,
- Electronic and Communication)
- Bachelor of Technology (Computer Systems and Networking)
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication)
- Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology, Computer Science, Geophysics)
Students who obtain satisfactory results in the Foundation Engineering and Science program are eligible for admission to the undergraduate courses offered at Perth, Bentley Campus. Courses include: Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medical Science, Public Health, Environmental Science and Architecture.
