Diploma of Process Plant Technology (Oil Industry)

The Diploma of Process Plant Technology (Oil Industry) has been designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to work in a Process Plant facility through a balanced program of practical, technical and theoretical training relevant to a plant operator in the chemical and oil refining or distribution industry.

The Diploma is delivered over two-years full-time. Applications for recognition of prior learning (RPL) are assessed on an individual basis. Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.

This program is designed for students who have completed at least five years of secondary school education, sat for the Malaysian SPM examination (equivalent to Year 11 or GCE "O" Level) and obtained credit in three academic subjects including at least C6 in SPM English and Mathematics. Students with Polytechnic qualification  (two years post form five) is eligible to apply.

The initiative to conduct the program has been driven by the Oil and Gas Industry, in particular, companies such as Murphy and Nippon Oil. A minimum of 20 full scholarships are offered by the oil industry for eligible students.
