T&L Committee’s Terms of Reference

The Teaching and Learning Committee, led by Dr Hannah Ngu Ling Ngee, oversees the teaching related activities within the School of Engineering and Science. The terms of reference of the committee are as follows:

• To develop and maintain School’s Teaching Strategy
• To promote inter-departmental and inter-school teaching activities where these can improve the quality and enhance the efficiency of   teaching within the School.
• To provide a formal link between the School, the University T&L Committee and the Learning Centre
• To identify (both from within the School and elsewhere), and promulgate within the School, examples of best practice in teaching
• To monitor and develop School-wide mechanisms to enhance student recruitment and performance, including students at risk
• To develop strategies for the marketing of the teaching capabilities of the School to potential students and others
• To consider the implications for teaching within the School of external developments likely to impact upon Engineering education
• To advise on, and monitor the quality of, ICT support e.g. MOODLE for the School’s teaching activities
• Members are responsible for providing a conduit for communication from the Committee to Departments
