EFY Student Programmes

Academic Mentorship

Staff members from the various Engineering departments mentor students assigned to them. They provide academic assistance such as advice on academic matters and career prospects, help monitor their mentee’s academic progress, and may act as referees for students in scholarship applications, curriculum vitas and others.

Peer Mentorship

First semester EFY students who indicate an interest in joining the programme will be assigned a peer mentor, a student who has completed the first semester units. Peer mentors provide hands-on help and mentorship with their mentees’ studies, particularly in problem areas.

EFY Induction Seminar

First semester EFY students will attend an induction seminar to familiarize themselves with engineering practice, University regulations, Academic and University expectations, and learning skills. This seminar helps students “set the scene “ and creates motivation to perform well in their studies.
