Admission Requirements

 

Applicants are required to meet the University's minimum level of entry. All courses are taught in English and applicants must

demonstrate competence in English by meeting the Curtin English language requirement. Credits towards a Curtin qualification

may be granted to applicants with qualifications from other accredited educational institutions, including polytechnics and universities.

Students who have successfully completed and passed the Foundation Commerce and Arts, Foundation Engineering and Science,

Diploma of Business or Diploma of Information Technology (Network Engineering) courses are directly admitted to the respective

Bachelor degree courses. Other qualifications that are also considered for Bachelor degree admission:

Malaysia STPM Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Arts/Business/Commerce /Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

Senior Middle 3 MICSS - 5 passes inclusive of English (min. 5 B grades) and other qualifications as matriculated by Curtin University of Technology Western Australia.

Bangladesh Successful completion of one or two years of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution or

Senior High School certificate Year 12 - score of 120 average or

GCE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Arts/Business/Commerce/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

Brunei GCE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Arts/Business/Commerce/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

China One year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised university, or completion of the National College Entrance Examination (GAOKAO) at a specified level, plus completion of Intensive English program at Curtin.

Fiji and Pacific Islands Successful completion of foundation year at a recognised institution.

Hong Kong HKCEE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Arts/Business/Commerce/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

India India Senior School Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate or Indian School Certificate with an average of 65% in four or five subjects.

Indonesia STTB / SMU3 with an average score of 8.0 or above in four academic subjects from a Private (Key) Senior Secondary School or Successful completion of one or two years of a Bachelor degree at recognized institution, or completion of Diploma studies (DIII) at a recognized institution.

Japan Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Korea Successful completion of one or two years of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Macau HKCEE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Arts/Business/Commerce/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

Pakistan Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Saudi Arabia Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Singapore GCE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Business/Commerce/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Arts/Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

Sri Lanka GCE 'A' Level - best 3 subjects excluding General paper
· Applied Geology/Geophysics/Life Sciences - 5 points
· Business/Commerce/Arts/ Technology/Computer Science - 6 points
· Engineering - 9 points

Taiwan Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Thailand Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

United Arab Emirates Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised institution.

Vietnam Completion of the Bang Tu tai or Bang Tot nghiep Pho thong Trung hoc with an average of at least 80% in four core subjects, or successful completion of one year of a Bachelor degree at a recognised university.

 

Note: Subject Grades Conversion for STPM: A or A- = 5 points; B+ = 4 points; B = 3 points; B- or C+ = 2 points; C = 1 point
For 'A' Levels: A grade = 5 points; B grade = 4 points; C grade = 3 points; D grade = 2 points; E grade = 1 point

 

Credit for Prior Learning

Prospective students with other tertiary qualifications may apply for advanced standing and receive credit for prior learning.

Advanced standing forms are available for download here. The forms are to be completed and submitted together with copies of examination results/ transcripts and course syllabus to the Registrar´s Office.
