  • Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology)
This course emphasises exploration geology for minerals and fossil fuels, and provides training in applied geology in topics such as petroleum geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, environmental and exploration geochemistry and exploration geophysics.

  • Bachelor of Science (Geophysics)

Geophysics is one of the most exciting sciences as it seeks to understand the Earth's interior - the physics of the Earth. It concerns the shape and structure of the earth and its physical processes.
  • Career Opportunities

Applied and exploration aspects of the course account for strong industry demand for Curtin Geology graduates. Most students seek employment in the petroleum industry and many are also employed in environmental geology. Curtin's geology & geophysics courses are recognised by the prestigious Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
  • Course Entry Requirements

Students need to meet the general admission requirements of the University.  Having studied high school physics, chemistry, mathematics or calculus would be an advantage. Please refer to English Language Requirements and Admission Requirements.
