Electrical and Computer Engineering consists of four sections, namely: Electrical Power, Electronics and Communications,
Computer System Engineering, Computer System and Networking. Students have the flexibility to change between these
courses until the beginning of third year.
In Power section, the core of the program is on electrical power systems, generation, distribution and utilization, emphasizing
on power protection and renewable energy systems. Students are given appropriate training in system design tools and in the
approaches for system performance evaluation. In addition, the program has a good emphasis on power electronic and control
systems, which are both particularly relevant to the industrial needs for the state and region. The program has a greater emphasis
on programmable logic control and related technologies. In addition, the Direct Torque Control technology for variable speed drives
and Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems are also employed.
In communication section, one of the core areas is on Wireless, WiFi and WiMax communications as well as Mobile Communication. Students are offered appropriate training in signal and system, digital signal processing and magnetic prorogations; they are also
offered a greater choice of electronic design, telecommunications and computer communication networks. In the Computer Engineering part, the program offers a unit on software engineering for embedded systems, and allows a greater choice for students to gain an additional specialization in Embedded Software Engineering and theory of computation. The program covers the field of artificial
intelligence, robotics, machine vision, computer-aided design and manufacture, automation and process control. Finally, in Computer System and Networking part, the major components are focused on the Hardware Fundamentals, Statistical Data Analysis, Data Communication and Network Management, Embedded Systems Engineering and Network Systems Design.
