IT Department is responsible for planning and provision of central IT services in Curtin Sarawak and facilitating the delivery of IT services across the University’s campus.  Here you will find information on the Information Technology Services Section. The five sections of IT Department are functionally organized to meet our clients' needs — both individual and departmental.

  • Service Desk: The initial point of contact for the departmental and individual clients seeking information. This section offers a variety of services. The Service Desk assists with hardware and software issues on Windows PCs, laptops and most common mobile platforms.
  • Desktop Support: Offers desktop, laptop and technical support to academic, students and professional staff.
  • Application Support: Provides services and support the University core applications such as student management system, HRIS, finance system, course management (Moodle), develop new system, backup and storage, web hosting services and database administration.
  • System & Network: Administers network infrastructure, servers, storage, windows infrastructure, windows system administration, phone, surveillance systems, door access system, security tool & services, system backup, email and calendar.
  • Repair & Maintenance: Provides management of campus computer and IT resources maintenance.

Trouble Ticket Express
TTX is the application behind Curtin's central online web form help request. This system allows schools and departments to track user service requests. Creating a service ticket is now as easy as submitting a web form and the TTX assigns a unique number to each service request and saves it in a database to be reviewed at any time. Each service ticket will have attributes showing who is responsible and what the current status of the ticket.The objective of ticketing system is to ensure that standardized methods and techniques are used for efficient and prompt handling of IT requests.
