Lakeside Apartment

 

General Information on Facilities
There is a General Purpose / Community Hall which can be utilised for group discussion and also as an indoor games court. A canteen is located within the Community Hall area where food and drinks are available from 7:00am to 10:00pm. On the eastern end of the campus there is a soccer field and a basketball court for sport and game activities. Ample parking space is allocated nearby for both students and residents of the apartment.

 

Student Accommodation
There are 5 blocks of 3-storey walk-up flat housing a total of 160 accommodation units on campus. These units can accommodate 211 students. Most rooms are air-conditioned with a limited number of fan rooms available.

 

Each block has:

Ground Floor  - 4 double rooms and 3 single rooms
 - 3 shower rooms and 4 toilets
First Floor  - 5 double rooms and 6 single rooms
 - 8 shower rooms and 8 toilets
Second Floor  - 5 double rooms and 6 single rooms
 - 8 shower rooms and 8 toilets

Rent & Fees Chargeable
Rental charges are inclusive of the cost of electricity and water up to a maximum of RM50 per month per resident. Students will pay for any excess above this amount. General daily housekeeping is provided for common areas. An administration fee of RM20 will be charged for accommodation arrangements and students are required to pay a refundable deposit equivalent to two months' rental. Students are also required to pay one semester's rent – depending on tenancy period – in advance.

 

SINGLE ROOM with air-condition : RM 500.00 per person per month
TWIN-SHARING with air-condition : RM 375.00 per person per month
TWIN-SHARING without air-condition : RM 300.00 per person per month

 

KEY DEPOSIT : RM 50.00   This amount will be refunded when you return the key at the end of each tenure.

 

Tenancy periods per semester are as follows:
Undergraduate & Foundation – 5 months
Diploma – 4 months
Intensive English Programme – 3 months

 

Other Terms
Residents are responsible in maintaining the cleanliness of their room and the common areas. The University Accommodation’s Rules & Regulations apply to all Lakeside residents.

 

Common Facilities - Student Accommodation
Common kitchen with electric stove & refrigerator, living lounge with ceiling fan and dining area on each floor with furniture provided. Common laundry space is provided within the lakeside compound with coin operated washing machine.

Each room is furnished with a single bed c/w mattress & pillow, wardrobe, bookshelf, study desk with chair and ceiling fan only. Bed-sheets, blankets, towels, toiletries, washing detergent etc. are not provided - we recommend that you bring along these items.
