Course Fee & Other Fees

All students are required to pay their course fee directly to the University. New students are required to pay the course fee stated in the Letter of Offer. One month before the new semester begins, all re-enrolling students will receive a fee invoice and full payment must be made on or before the due date for each semester.

Re-enrolling students are requested to ask for fee invoice if they have not received any in the mail 2 weeks before settlement date. Students also need to request for fee invoice directly if they enroll or add unit(s) late. Please contact Cashier's Office (Tel: 085-443885) for enquiries on fee and / or request for additional copies of fee invoice.

Fees are calculated on the basis of unit enrolment. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that payment of course fee is received and cleared by the University at the close of business on the due date.

Fee Payment Options

You may effect fee payment through any of the following ways:

  1. By cash, cheque or bankdraft at any Maybank branch nationwide (at the teller counter or through the Cash Deposit machines and Cheque Deposit Machines).
    Important: you must write down your name and ID number on the bank-in slip for identification of payment as indicated below:

    2. By cash, cheque, bankdraft or credit card (VISA / MasterCard) at the University Cashier's Office situated on campus in Building GP401, ground level. The office is opened from 9am 4pm, Monday to Friday, except during public holidays.

    3. By telegraphic transfer (TT) to the University's designated bank account:

    Important: You must fax your TT slip to the University at Fax: +60 85 443971 or send it via e-mail to finance@curtin.edu.my after the TT transaction is completed.

    4. By cheque or bankdraft through post or courier addressed to Financial Services Department, Curtin University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Malaysia, CDT 250, 98009 Miri, Sarawak . Do not send any cash in the mail or courier.

    5. By credit card by completing and faxing the Credit Card Authorisation Form which can be downloaded here.

Payment by cheque or bankdraft

If you are paying by cheque / bankdraft, please follow these simple steps before remitting your payment:

1. Make the cheque or bankdraft payable to Curtin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
2. On the reverse side of your cheque or bankdraft, please indicate the following information:
- Your full name as appear in your IC or passport
- Your Curtin Sarawak student ID No.
- The University's bank account name and bank account number

Late Payment & Penalty Charges
Late payment penalty will be imposed by the University for payment received after the fee payment due date.

Important: If you are sending your cheque / bankdraft via post or courier, you must ensure the payment is received by the Cashier's Office before payment due date.

Penalty charge will be incurred on:

Returned cheques, due to technical error : RM10.00

SANCTIONS will be applied to your student account when there are outstanding fees or charges. If you have a sanction on your account you will not be able to register for classes and re-enrolling, and access to academic and administrative services may be barred.

The sanction will also prevent access to results and academic transcripts, attendance to graduation ceremony and issuing of awards. If you are enrolled as an international student, your student visa may also be at risk.

Once the fees or charges have been paid the sanction will be removed.

Important notes
All the above course fees are exclude textbooks, accommodation and other study materials.
- Course fees (shown in Ringgit Malaysia) are based on a normal full-time work load of 200 credits per year unless otherwise stated. Students studying more than 200 credits per year will have a higher annual course fee. The course fee is calculated and charged on a semester basis.
A student should expect that the indicative semester course fee, as shown on the Letter of Offer, might vary from the actual course fee according to the units (subjects) undertaken. The indicative fee is a guide as to what the actual course fee will be, until semester enrolment is completed.

Note For International Students

International students are required to provide in favour of Curtin (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a security deposit of a sum equivalent to a one way airfare back to their home country.
