Academic, Full Time
The successful candidate will be responsible for organization and delivery of teaching materials and assessment plan; conducting lectures; lab demonstrations and tutorials; coordination and management of units, providing continuous feedback to students; academic counseling of students; and participating in staff development activities.
- • Postgraduate qualifications, preferably a PhD, in the area related to Geology with undergraduate degree in Geology, or an equivalent combination of qualifications.
- • Industrial experience or significant involvement with industry, such as working in industry-sponsored projects and or consultancy
- • Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve outcomes with minimum supervision.
- • Experience in teaching students at undergraduate and post-graduate levels would be an added asset.
- • Evidence of personal research achievement including publishing in accredited international peer-reviewed journals.
- • Demonstrated ability to provide a leadership role or to function as a team player in relation to team building, research program development and management.
- • A demonstrated ability to work with various models for basin analysis etc.
- • Proven track record in carrying out geological surveys (offshore exploration work would be an asset)
- • Able to attract industrial/external funding to support research activities.
- • Ability to build effective networks with other scientific communities and profession in the region or globally.
