HOW TO APPLY FOR MALAYSIAN STUDENTS

Malaysian students who wish to study at Curtin University Sarawak Campus may apply in person by visiting the Student Services Office, online or through Curtin University Sarawak Campus representatives. Kindly refer to http://www.curtin.edu.my/future/representatives/index.htm for contact details of Curtin's representatives.
Please follow the steps outlined below on how to apply:

STEP 1
Once you have decided on your course of study, please complete the Application for Admission Form available on the last section in the 2013 Prospectus, submit online application or download the form online.

The Application Form must be accompanied by certified copies of all relevant documents as stated on page 4 of the application form. The last date for application submission is during the orientation week of each semester.

Successful applicants will be notified through email.

STEP 2
Before leaving home, it is advisable to book an air ticket immediately after accepting the offer as airline seats are in high demand before the start of the semester.

If you are coming from other states (outside Miri) and you need us to pick you from the Miri airport, please request for the Airport Reception Services (ARS) at least 3 days before your flight.  Our International Office will get back to you to confirm your ARS booking.

STEP 3
Upon arrival at Miri airport, students who have requested for Airport Reception Services will be greeted by our representative and transported to their on-campus accommodation. Students who have not requested to be picked up by our representative may use a taxi to be transported to your accommodation.

HOW TO ACCEPT YOUR OFFER FOR MALAYSIAN STUDENTS

Please follow the instructions below on steps to accept your offer:

1. RETURN YOUR ACCEPTANCE & ENROLMENT FORM
You must sign and returned your acceptance and enrolment form to Student Services office by the due date before you made your semester fee payment. By signing the form, you indicated that you have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions stated in the “Terms of Offer and Important Information” enclosed with the Letter of Offer including the Refund Policy.
If you have received a conditional offer, you must fulfil the condition(s) stated in your offer prior to accepting your offer. You must provide the evidence that you have met all conditions as stated in your offer letter (academic transcripts, certificates etc). If you do not provide the evidence, you will not be eligible to proceed with your enrolment.

2.  PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES

The indicative semester fee must be paid before the due date as stated in the offer letter.  It is advisable that you make payment before orientation as delaying paying your tuition fees may results in delay of printing your student ID card and other services which you requires during orientation.
If you had made your payment, you may collect the receipt from our Financial Services.  Please keep the receipt as you are required to bring it for registration on the first day of orientation.
You are Curtin student once your indicative semester fee is paid.
Fee Payment Options:
1. By cash, cheque or bankdraft at any Maybank branch nationwide (at the teller counter or through the Cash Deposit machines and Cheque Deposit Machines).

Important: You must write down your name and ID number on the bank-in slip for identification of payment.

2. By cash, local cheque and credit card (Visa / MasterCard) at the Cashier's Office.

3. By telegraphic transfer (TT) to the University's designated bank account:

Important: You must fax your TT slip to the University at Fax: +60 85 443971 or send it via e-mail to
finance@curtin.edu.my after the TT transaction is completed.

5. By credit card by completing and faxing the Credit Card Authorisation Form which can be downloaded

Refunds of course fees for New Students will be made according to the following guidelines.

3. ATTEND ORIENTATION AND REGISTRATION
It is compulsory for all new Curtin students to attend the “StartUp" week. It will help you to get off to the best start academically and socially. Failing to attend Orientation means you will miss out on essential information about your units and the Campus, and the info will not be repeated in week 1. For students who miss orientation due to unforeseen circumstances please see information on “Missed Orientation” http://www.curtin.edu.my/oweek/missed.htm

Please ensure you bring the following documents to the orientation and registration:

‘O’ Level, ‘A’ Level or other conditions as stated in your offer letter.

  : 4 for Sabahan & West Malaysian

If you are an international and non-Sarawakian (Sabahan, Labuan, and West Malaysian) student, you are required to have a valid and current Student Pass while studying at Curtin University Sarawak. Non-Sarawakian (Sabahan, Labuan, and West Malaysian) student MUST apply for Student Pass by completing a “Student Pass Application Form” form at the International Office during Orientation Week.

Any offer of enrolment is conditional upon Student Services sighting the original transcripts or certified copies of academic records. These can either be mailed or brought with you upon enrolment.
