CUTSE 2008 is the Curtin University of Technology Science and Engineering International Conference organized by the School of Engineering and Science, Curtin Sarawak Malaysia (CSM) in collaboration with Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Miri Branch. The theme for this year’s conference is “Excellence through Innovation”. The government of Malaysia has highlighted the importance of sustainable technology and innovative research. Therefore, our vision is "To be at the Frontiers of Sustainable Technology through Innovative Research".
This conference provides a platform to disseminate, to all branches and industries, information on the most recent and relevant innovations, theories and practices in engineering and sciences, where a constructive dialog on theoretical concepts, practical ideas and state of the art technology will be deliberated. CUTSE 2008 is aimed at providing an excellent avenue for researchers, engineers, scientists, academicians, professionals from industry and students to share their R&D findings and initiate further collaborative research in their respective fields. Parallel sections in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Chemical Engineering, as well as several fields in the Sciences will be hosted over a period of four days.
A specialized session on petroleum issues will be hosted on the first day. Key papers on various aspects of petroleum industry will be presented by professionals. Students and researchers interested in petroleum related issues are strongly encouraged to attend this session.
A mid-conference tour session has been planned to provide participants with an opportunity to visit exotic tropical resorts, national geological heritage parks and other interesting sites. During the same period, several key workshop sessions would be held primarily to address critical issues in the various fields.
Participants are invited to submit papers for presentation and publication in the conference proceedings.
