IEP Examination

 

  • For students in Level 1 to 3, to proceed to the next level, they need to obtain a minimum of 50% of the average units (the four core skills & electives) and attempt all the assessment components.

    Students in Level 1 and 2 who passed a particular unit with 70% and above, is allowed to sit for a promotional test, two (2) days after the finals. If they pass, they can skip a level for that unit.

    CSEA is administered to Level 4 IEP students as their Final Examination paper which is also the exit examination for IEP. In other words,
  • the students do not need to sit for any other external examination to qualify for the English language requirement for Curtin Sarawak. They can use IEP own examination.

    CSEA students who obtained an overall passing band of 6.0 for Degree and 5.5 for Foundation, but fail one of the core units, is entitled
  • to re-sit that particular unit.

    The BOE Meeting's results will be announced to the students by the Student Service Office, usually one week after meeting
  • (more or less 2 weeks after the final examination).

 

Non-IEP students cannot sit for this test.

* CSEA or Curtin Sarawak English Assessment is an English language proficiency test administered by Curtin Sarawak.

The test measures students' English language proficiency in listening, reading, writing, & speaking. The results of the test

are reported in a nine-scale band.

 

Proceeding to Foundation or Degree Program

Students who wish to proceed to Foundation or Degree program, need to fulfill the following requirements:

Foundation Program
CSEA

Writing and Speaking 5.0
Reading and Listening 5.0
Overall band 5.5
And IEP Level 4 score 50
Degree Program
CSEA

Writing and Speaking 6.0
Reading and Listening 5.5
Overall band 6.0
And IEP Level 4 score 55

 

Completion of the IEP Program

The certificates of completions and examination transcripts are awarded at the end of teach term.

Level 4 students will get the CSEA results.
