"Raising Awareness of Innovation": CUTSE2007 Conference
Monday, 26 November 2007 -
The Curtin University of Technology Sarawak Engineering Conference 2007 (CUTSE2007)
is back again for the second time. CUTSE2007 will be held on 26 - 27 November 2007
at the Harry Perkins Lecture Theatre, Curtin Sarawak Campus.
The two day conference will cover all topics related to analysis, modelling, control,
stability, simulation, implementation, fabrication, optimization, programming,
computation, characterization, transportation, structures and costs in these various
fields; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics and
Communications, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Chemical Engineering and
Civil and structures.
"This conference will be a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians and
students as well as industrial professionals to present their research results and
development activities in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical and Civil Engineering,"
said Associate Professor Nader Barsoum, Chairperson for CUTSE2007.
"This year, the number of external participants has doubled and we are very privileged
to have a few sponsors onboard this year, namely Shell as the Platinum Sponsor
sponsoring RM10,000, Sarawak Energy sponsoring RM5,000 as the Gold Sponsor and
Miri City Council," he added further.
Approximately 130 delegates who is participating in this conference will be able to
exchange new ideas and application experiences and at the same time widen their network
in finding potential future global partner either in business or research collaborations.
Keynote speakers, Dr. JS Janusy from Hungary and Professor NE Shanmugam from Singapore
will be presenting for the first time on their research papers.
Dr. JS Janusy is the Head of the Simulator Development Department in the Atomic Energy
Research Institute of the Central Research Institute for Physics at the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences. He will be presenting his paper on Simulators and Simulation used
in Nuclear Power Plant Related Projects where it summarizes the results and practise
used at Paks NPP in Hungary, first in the evaluation of safety studies, then in the
working-out of new state-of-art operational procedures, and finally, during
reconstruction of the Reactor Safety System and other Instrumentation and Control Systems.
Professor NE Shanmugam is a Professional Fellow with the Department of Civil Engineering,
National University of Singapore and has published more than 200 papers in International
Journals and Conference proceedings. He will be presenting his research on the
