MIRI, Tuesday, 20 December 2005 - In line with its community relations programme, Curtin University of Technology, (Curtin Sarawak) today donated books worth RM 13,000 to Pustaka Miri and Miri City Council Library.

Present to receive the new books donated which are applicable for use by college, university and professional level students from Professor Dr Ruth Marquis, Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor/Chief Executive, Curtin Sarawak are Cik Hayati Hj Sabil, Regional Manager, Pustaka Miri and Mr Lim Sang Chuan, Assistant Library Officer from Miri City Council Library.

The books donated are in the fields of business, economics, sciences, technology, education and also the study of English Language.

Professor Dr Ruth Marquis said, “Curtin Sarawak is committed towards fostering effective and lifelong community relationships and we believe it is imperative to develop this culture in Miri where Curtin Sarawak is. We hope with this donation of books to the libraries in Miri, it will further enrich and enhance the economic and social development of Miri.”
