Learning at CSM

 

The Curtin Student Charter provides the following expectations:

 

Students can expect:

  • - cultural sensitivity that respects diverse values, beliefs, customs and traditions
  • - courses that prepare them for careers in their chosen field
  • - courses that are regularly reviewed, take account of feedback from students and produce graduates who are valued by the community,   international in their outlook, and equipped for leadership roles in society
  • - careful implementation of any course change to ensure that they are not avoidably disadvantaged
  • - a clear statement on unacceptable academic behaviour such as plagiarism, cheating, collusion, fabrication of data and breach of copyright
  • - reasonable access to academic and general staff
  • - fair assessment and timely and useful feedback on their performance and progress, including final results
  • - access to resources sufficient for the achievement of their educational goals including library, computing, counselling and health services.

 

The University can expect students to:

  • - work to the best of their ability for the duration of the course
  • - make themselves aware of all course and unit requirements and to observe these
  • - raise any questions about their performance or progress with the appropriate academic staff in a timely and reasonable manner
  • - submit work which is their own, and, where it includes the work that is not original, make due acknowledgment
  • - participate in all activities associated with each unit of study and comply with workload expectations
  • - provide constructive feedback in the conduct of academic activities.
