Are you tired of the office? Do you need a break ? Its CRUNCH TIME ! and July is our sports month and the theme for this year’s Curtin Sports & Family Day 2008 is “Together in Work & Play”.

Beginning Saturday, June 28 we will kick-off with a JOG-A-THON followed various sporting event thru out the month of July.

The JOG-A-THON route will cover a 6km route from the Harry Perkins Lecture Theatre Foyer to Curtin Village (mid-point) and return. Registration will be held at 7:00 am at the LT foyer.

Come first week of July we will be organizing preliminary 7-A-Side mini soccer, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and with the addition of Dodgeball and traditional Malaysian games such as "Bola Kaki Tiga", Galah Panjang and Coconut Bowling. To mark the closing of the sports month, the committee will be organizing a Family Day event on Saturday, 26 July 2008 at the Kelab Rekreasi Petroleum Lutong. The family day will host various telematch games for staff and their families.

This year staff will be grouped under 4 teams named after Australian animals - Tazmanian Devil, Wombat, Wallaby and Crocodile. Team captains are also appointed to coordinate and inform their teams and supporters of any upcoming team competition.

In order to ensure that more staff can be involved in the events, we have limited the registration to 2 events per staff (excluding the Malaysian traditional games) * Exception to this rule is at the discretion of the team captain.
